Farris Hussein:
Orlando – Winter Park Academy

Lifelong soccer fan turned franchise owner. 50+ players in under a year at Sofive Winter Park.

Journey

From lifelong soccer fan to franchise owner

Farris Hussein has loved soccer his whole life. A devoted Barcelona fan and a decent player growing up, he always dreamed of working in the game — but it never felt realistic. He didn't play at a high college level, and instead channeled his ambition into a successful career in sales. Then he saw the advert. We Make Footballers was looking for franchisees in the US.

Journey

From local passion to professional coaching impact

What started with Saturday sessions at Sofive Winter Park is growing into a full soccer development program. Farris and his coaching team deliver weekly training, holiday camps, and private 1-on-1 sessions — all following the WMF syllabus, with every child getting 500+ touches of the ball per hour.

Impact

Measuring success beyond the numbers

Farris at WMF Orlando is proving that you don't need a coaching background to build a successful soccer academy — you need the right system and the drive to make it work.

The dream

Farris grows up a lifelong soccer fan and Barcelona devotee. He channels his drive into a successful sales career — but working in the game he loves still feels out of reach. That changes when he sees an advert from We Make Footballers looking for US franchisees.

2025: Taking the leap

Farris goes through the franchise process with Andy and commits to Orlando as an early adopter. He completes in-person training with CEO Sean Conlon in Miami alongside the WMF online coaching modules.

2025: Launch & rapid growth

WMF Orlando – Winter Park launches at Sofive, an elite indoor/outdoor venue. Farris recruits a strong coaching team and trains them using WMF systems. The academy hits 50+ players in under a year, on target with the business plan.

2026 and beyond

Farris begins forming a Foundation League in Orlando to give players structured competitive experience. The next step: a full WMF club team. Holiday camps, private training, and school partnerships are all in the pipeline.

A day in the life of a soccer coach

Running a We Make Footballers franchise means combining business ownership with time on the field. Here's what a typical Saturday looks like for Farris.

Business owner in the morning

Farris starts the day checking bookings and trial enquiries in the Parent Area, reviewing capacity across his sessions, and following up with new families. He spends time on local marketing — posting session content to social media, connecting with schools, and planning upcoming camps.

Academy Director at midday

By 11:00 AM, Farris is at Sofive Winter Park. The 4–7 age group trains from 11:00 AM to noon, followed by the 8–12s from noon to 1:00 PM. His coaching team runs sessions using the WMF syllabus — technical drills, 1v1s, and small-sided games — while Farris oversees operations and welcomes parents.

"The training gave me a strong foundation and I've felt supported throughout the whole process. The team is responsive, proactive, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed. Going into launch, I feel confident knowing there's a solid structure and a team backing me. I'm excited to grow WMF in Orlando and grateful for all the support so far."
